Hot on the heels of another sold-out GEL-Kayano 14 duo, the strategic partnership between the Montreal-based design studio JJJJoundASICSWednesday, June 26th.
First teased by JJJJound in a characteristically minimalistic post back in May, the sneaker community has been eagerly awaiting a full look at the project. The wait is now over, as the studio has finally gone public with a complete unveiling, detailing the spec and confirming the release date.
Clean & Considered Design
True to JJJJound's signature aesthetic, the collaboration takes ASICS' technologically advanced GEL-Quantum 360 silhouette and pares it back to its purest essentials. The shoe is executed in a muted, tonal grey palette, utilizing premium suede and mesh materials across the upper for a sophisticated texture play.
The design focuses on subtle branding, with co-branded details discreetly placed on the tongue and heel. The defining feature of the model, the 360-degree GEL cushioning unit, is tinted in a complementary semi-translucent grey, completing the unified and meticulously considered look.
