With a quarter of the season behind us, the 2025 MLB campaign is in full swing. It's too early to see who the true contenders for the World Series as well as end-of-season awards are, but at this juncture we can crown Nike as true innovators of the on-field jersey movement in the 21st century.
The sporting giant has teamed up with Major League Baseball once again to release the much-anticipated Nike Air Max 270 MLB City Connect Pack. This limited-edition collection celebrates the unique local flavor of MLB teams through eye-catching designs inspired by each team's City Connect series uniforms.
"We wanted to capture the energy and identity of these Major League cities in a shoe that performs as well as it looks," said Nike chief designer Marcus Taylor at the product launch event in Chicago. "The Air Max 270 platform gives us the perfect canvas to express these vibrant team identities beyond the diamond."
Design Highlights
Key features of the Air Max 270 MLB City Connect collection include:
- Team-specific gradient colorways that mirror the official City Connect uniforms
- Custom heel tabs featuring modified team logos
- 3D-printed knit upper with subtle baseball stitching details
- The largest visible Air unit in the 270 series to date (27mm heel Air unit)
- Glow-in-the-dark outsoles on select designs
